Draft cards then build them, chaining together productions that feed one another.

You’ll need the game box. Marquoir sums up the rules and keeps score.
Setup
- Each player receives an Empire card, which produces a resource from the very first round.
- Four rounds, each with a draft phase followed by a production phase.
How to play
- Draft phase: you receive seven cards, keep one and pass the rest, switching direction each round.
- Each card kept is either put under construction, or recycled for its resource.
- Production phase: the five resources are produced in order and feed the cards under construction.
Scoring
- Each completed construction is worth its printed points.
- Characters, generals and financiers, multiply other elements: they are what produce the big scores.
End of the game
- The game ends after the fourth round.
Frequently asked questions
What is the idea?
A drafting and engine-building game: you choose cards, recycle them into resources or build them to produce more and more, round after round.
How does the draft work?
You receive seven cards, keep one and pass the rest, as in 7 Wonders. You repeat until the hands run out, over four drafting rounds.
Recycle or build?
Each card can be discarded for the resource shown in its corner, or placed under construction and then completed by investing resources in it. The whole art lies in that trade-off.
How does production work?
At the end of the round, you activate your built cards, one resource type at a time, in a fixed order. One production can feed another: the chain gathers pace.
How does the game end?
After four rounds (draft + production). Add up the points from the cards and the characters; the multiplier combinations produce the big scores.
