You’ll need the game box. Marquoir sums up the rules and keeps score.
Setup
- Each player takes a personal board, all on the same side.
- Fill the central board: three tokens drawn from the pouch on each space.
- Reveal a row of animal cards.
How to play
- On your turn, take the three tokens from one space of the central board and place all of them on your board.
- You may also take an animal card, and place animal cubes when your landscape matches the pattern on one of your cards.
- Stacking: green goes on one or two browns (tree), grey on grey (mountain), red on grey, brown or red (building). Blue and yellow cannot be stacked.
Scoring
- Trees: 1, 3 or 7 points depending on whether they have 0, 1 or 2 trunk pieces.
- Mountains: 1, 3 or 7 points depending on their height, provided they touch another mountain.
- Fields: 5 points per group of at least two yellow tokens.
- Buildings: 5 points if surrounded by at least three different colours.
- Water: depending on the side of the board chosen.
- Animal cards: the highest value uncovered on each card.
End of the game
- The end is triggered when the pouch can no longer refill the central board, or when a player has two or fewer empty spaces left.
- Finish the round so that everyone has played the same number of turns, then score. The highest total wins.
