You’ll need the game box. Marquoir sums up the rules and keeps score.
Setup
- Each player takes a park board.
- At the start of each round, each player draws six dinosaurs from the bag.
How to play
- The game has two rounds of six turns.
- Each turn, the active player rolls the placement die: its restriction applies to everyone else, not to them.
- Everyone places one dinosaur from their hand in an enclosure, then passes the rest to their neighbour.
- The river always accepts a dinosaur you cannot or do not want to place elsewhere.
Scoring
- Forest of Sameness: a single species, placed from left to right; 2, 4, 8, 12, 18 or 24 points.
- Meadow of Differences: all different species, from left to right; 1, 3, 6, 10, 15 or 21 points.
- Prairie of Love: 5 points per pair of the same species.
- Woody Trio: 7 points if it holds exactly three dinosaurs.
- King of the Jungle: 7 points if no opponent has more dinosaurs of that species in their park.
- Solitary Island: 7 points if this dinosaur is the only one of its species in the park.
- River: 1 point per dinosaur.
- +1 point per enclosure containing at least one T-Rex.
End of the game
- After the second round, score the parks. The highest total wins.
- In case of a tie: the fewest T-Rexes.
Frequently asked questions
Is the player who rolls the die affected by its restriction?
No. The restriction applies to all the other players; the roller places freely.
